anatomy of a perfect boyfriend
“If a man cooks, cleans, and takes you out- Sink your claws in and never let go.”
That’s one (somewhat graphic) lesson from mama that we’ll never forget. Here at Anatomy of a Perfect Boyfriend, we understand the importance of a pinterest-worthy home and just how tough achieving that can be! We may not be your knight in shining armor but we’ve got your back with all the fixins of the perfect boyfriend for life’s little challenges… Because these days it’s not as easy as just swiping right.
Anatomy of a Perfect Boyfriend is a 1950’s ‘homemaker’ kit with a twist. Taking a play on the common gender roles from the 50’s, Anatomy of a Perfect Boyfriend is aimed towards women and plays off the idea of the man who cooks, cleans, and plans dates being the perfect boyfriend as he ‘does all the to-do’s so you don’t have to!’ Leaving the woman time to relax.
The entire line is packaged in forms and colors that could be considered ‘50’s Mod,’ which retains a sort of comedy effect. The perfect boyfriend also appears on each package, modeling the package’s contents- however he is actually a male anatomy model. The perfect boyfriend doesn’t exist, as each man is his own person, just as each house is it’s own structure maintained by each family to their own likings. Anatomy of a Perfect Boyfriend was an attempt at using an era of mass production, plastic, and gender roles to call out each and every person’s uniqueness in a lighthearted and aesthetic way.
